Europe’s only monkey! 🐒 Cute but little shits, as to be expected 😂 One bit me when i fought him over our backpack. But I wasn’t having it. You aren’t stealing my things. :NO MONKEYS WERE HARMED IN OUR SQUABBLE:
Beautiful waterfall we hiked to with a help of a local farmer who spoke no English but pulled over regardless as we wandered a bit lost. He drew us a picture of the trail head, which at the time, we had no idea what the little picture was, but the moment we arrived we knew. I wish I could find him and thank him again for his kindness. Don’t be afraid to explore. The universe will guide you if it was meant to me. Blessings to the humble little farmer and everyone else who’s helped us along our journey 🖤
Another beautiful ocean shot in the town of Mosteiros which means Monastery due to the shape of the islet on the left! You can’t see it much here but from certain views it looks like a church!
Let’s walk for days through valleys, around volcanoes and near the ocean.
Beautiful light house views. We were snooping around and the lighthouse caretaker asked if we wanted to go up. We said yes of course! We were lucky because they usually only do tours on Wednesday’s. Sometimes braving the quiet hidden places give the best rewards. ☺️☺️
Another shot from one of the many pineapple greenhouses. I have so many pictures it’s hard to decide what to post. More to come 💚🍍 ** @funtastic_azores_tours educated us with the origins of their history. Originally the pineapples grew sporadically and that harvesting them could be difficult as they grew randomly. It is said that one day someone must have left something smoldering near the pineapples (such as a cigarette, etc ) and as they were in an enclosed space the smoke lingered. This caused the pineapples to go into panic mode as they presumed there was danger (fire ) near by which causes them to grow faster because the plant is attempting to purge itself of toxins. Now the tradition helps with even harvest as they use native essences trees to smoke out the pineapples!
Cause I haven’t #selfied in awhile and i’m feeling this lighting 🖤☺️🖤
The pineapples here are so adorably tiny. They take two years to grow. They are grown in greenhouse all organic! They are so soft you can even eat the centers. They are common dinner desserts, yum!🍍 🍍
Got to visit Europe’s only Tea Fields! They grow and process each and every leaf themselves. The process is done with so much care, time and love it made me respect the power of tea even more. 💚🍵💚🍵 Oh and of course the tea was noms!
I saw this and it was getting foggy and dark. No one was around. Nothing but the sounds of waves and the random seabirds swooping down from the nearby cliffs. It had an inspiring dark moody feeling. Inside was warm, dimly lit, with a softly-happy concierge accompanied with a desk bell and single beer tap. Strangely it felt like home.
